Sharon asks…
I am planning on getting the lasik surgery done pretty soon. If I go in on Friday morning, how long will it take for me to be functional again. By that, I mean, when could I drive and do normal activities?
You’ll need someone to drive you home from your procedure, but you should be up and around as almost at 100% the very next day. You will have a post-up check up the next day, and then you’ll have scheduled post-op check-ups at a week out, and then at intervals after that so they can track your progress and make sure that you’re healing up properly. The only real issue post-operatively is avoiding getting water in your eyes for the first week or so. You absolutely cannot get water in your eyes because of the corneal flap that they make when they do the LASIK. Its very important that you follow your doctor’s post-op instructions and after care to the letter.
Good luck!
